Silk Meter Feature Request

  1. For Silk User Policy Administrator, add a window showing and managing the policies assigned to a given user group.

For Silk User Policy Administrator, please add a window which allows a user to manage all policies (licenses) assigned to a given user group. With the current interface, a user needs to go through all policies (licenses) to get a clear picture about what policies are assigned to a given user group and how the privilege are granted in each license, and this is very time consuming in the case, like mine, that there are 20 more policies to manage.

  2. Automated license generation

This request applies to all licensed Silk products, not just SilkCentral.

Please simplify the process to get new licenses for product upgrades - especially for VM license servers.

    Currently users must:
    1) open a support case
    2) attach smHostInfo output about the license server
    3) pledge to destroy old licenses

This can really take up lots of time if your company owns multiple Silk products.

License generation should be done with the click of a button.

In your records, you should have the user's company info:
    1) license server specification
    2) sworn statement to destroy the old licenses
    3) current…

  4. Silk Meter Needs a Major Overhaul

The Silk Meter license management application needs a major overhaul.

    1. It allows customers to get into license trouble because it does not alert the user when duplicate licenses are installed for greater than the contractual 90 days.
    2. It only keeps license usage history for the past 2 days. Tracking any further history appears to be impossible.
    3. After doing a query in the Query Dialog, I have to close/re-open the Policy Administrator to do the next query.
    4. Querying a two-day license usage spends 40+ seconds. This kind of performance is unacceptable.

I'm sure there are other deficiencies…

  5. Please add grid view to Silk User Policy Administrator.

Please add a grid view of all user policies in Silk User Policy Administrator. The columns of the grid view should includes Policy ID, Product, Version, Parts, Licenses, Maximum Invokes, Maximum Units and Time Frame. The grid view should be able to be sorted by each column in descending by ascending order.

Request this because the current tree view is very user-unfriendly:

    A) We can't see the whole picture of licensing. We have to go through each policy and check it.
    B) In each time after we finish checking a user policy, the policy jumps to the bottom of the…

  6. For Silk User Policy Administrator, add a label showing the current policy in "Edit Grants" window.

For Silk User Policy Administrator, please add a label showing the current policy in "Edit Grants" window. (It doesn't exist now...) This is a very annoying discrepancy especially when I needs to manage 20 more policies and frequently get lost about which policy I am editing now.
