  1. Option to Edit bounds in TrueLogs

When you left-click and parse a value in TrueLog the bounds selected are sometimes not "long" / unique enough. Currently I edit the script after the fact however it would be great to be able to edit the default bounds in the Truelog.

  2. Add support to GWT-RPC based website

Please allow GWT-RPC support to http/html protocol level to be able to decode much of the complex data in the HTTP responses and requests in theses websites.

  4. upgrades & licensing

Please make it less cumbersome to upgrade, e.g., from version 9.0 to 9.5, version 9.5 to version 10, and earlier all require one to resubmit the MAC address and jump through hoops to get a new license, even if the license server or PC has not changed - seems like it should not take another day or two to re-license the same machine as the earlier version of Silk Performer was installed upon.

  5. Imporovement of SP Workbench Editor

Have been working with scripts with length upto 17 thousands. I would like to suggest few tips for improvement of Silk Performer Workbench Editor , it should not only add lines but should also add features of modern text editors like :
    1. Folding a part of script based on function : Often a recorded script has events which record lines as long as 1000s. It becomes tedious to scroll and navigate across script. If editor has the feature to fold such parts it would add great help for scrolling scripts up-down.
    2. Column Selection : There should be some…

  7. Project Agents - Check

In Silk Performer 10 and 15 when one checks the project agents the application returns the agents name (or IP address, depending upon how one entered the agent's name); STATUS [OK], the processors on the agent machine, the amount of memory, the OS Version Number, and the Agent Version Number. It sure would be nice to report back the version of Internet Explorer on the machine for BDLT testing, since the versions of IE have to match. We have 18 agent machines in 2 computer labs and folks are quite frequently trying out other versions of IE - which blows…

  8. Allow BrowserFind and BrowserFindAll be used for any arbitrary HTML code block

BrowserFind and BrowserFindAll are extremely useful functions to obtain DOM element from any HTML block. Currently, they only allow to search the HTML code returned from web server. Perhaps such can be implemented like the XML-related functions.

  10. Option to Extend Acceptable Attribute Value with Browser Driven Recording in Silk Performer

During a BDLT recording, it seems that the acceptable max value length for an attribute is 20 characters long, if the value supersedes this length the recorder will move on and select another attribute as part of the XPath Locator.

A feature which increases the acceptable length of a value for an attribute during record would be beneficial, for example SilkTest have the ability to edit the following:

    OPT_XBROWSER_LOCATOR_MAX_ATTRIBUTE_VALUE_LENGTH

  11. Make SilkPerformer trying to connect to the internet an option that you can disable

Currently, SilkPerformer automatically connects to the internet when you start the workbench. It connects to some CloudBurst servers and to Microfocus. While this may be considered useful for some customers, it's quite annoying when your Silk installation can't reach the internet. Please make it an option you can disable.

  12. The ability to run a baseline test from the commandline is needed

Be able to specify Baseline as the workload for the command-line argument and have the tool run a baseline test.

  13. Provide a way to check inside the script if stop button was pressed or loadtest has ended

Currently it is possible only to end the script at the moment the loadtest has ended or to finish the whole transaction. If some parts of the transaction should not be interrupted, but the whole transaction might take a long time to complete, we have to wait for the whole transaction to complete at the end of the test.

As an example - we have a loop inside the transaction that will go to the next iteration based on some probability, so while the mean number of repetitions is low, it might climb even to several hours. We can not…

  14. "Instance Count" - Default is 2 in SCM - it should be 1

Very bad idea to have same agent running 2 tests - especially if you are using BDLT

what is the scenario? usually the agent is locked for simultaneous test executions. The default 2 is due to an error being raised if a test is executed right after a previous one. While the agent is shutting down, a new agent should be allowed to be started. If the scenario requires a 1 explicitly a workaround is available via SCM

  15. command line enhancements suggestions

Ability to automatically run a load test, generate the report in html format and generate a cross load result of new build against previous build (baseline) to detect the performance imipact (html format), without the manual involvement. Thus the command line features of silk performer components are very important.

  17. Use relative paths in project files

Currently SIlk Performer stores and searches for data files using absolute paths.

I tend to not like cluttering up the root project directory with a ton of stuff so I put all data files that are project specific in a data subdirectory within the root project directory. This way I am not polluting the default global data directory which the Silk Performer installation creates with project specific files.

Allowing the use of relative paths would also make a big difference when using source control, such as my teams use of Git. Whenever a new person on a project first checks…

  18. Silk Meter should allow you to make global policy restrictions

Currently if you wished to implement restrictions you have to go into each policy and add a Grant for each user, if a way to simply inact these policies globally (for all policies and all users) was added then it would save customers lots of time.

  19. export/import user profiles

For our test campaigns we generally reuse same user profiles from project to project. It would be glad to have a small tool allowing to export/import user profiles, allowing to store them out of individual project into a kind of user profiles repository.

  20. Provide features to filter results (Timer/Transactions/Scripts)

Please provide features to filter results after a testrun.
So it would be great to hide specific page/custom timer or just hide TInit/TEnd Transactions. Furthermore I would appreciate if it would be possible to hide whole Scripts. Maybe you habe a test where also a monitoring script was executed but you don't want to see this in the Overview Report.
