  1. Define Transaction Iterations outside the script

Ability to define the no.of iterations my transactions inside the script should run. Currently, this is done within the script. So, say if I have to run 5 iterations of each script and there 20 scripts in my project I will have to manually open each one and update the counts and change it back when needed. This is a pain. Easier way to do it would be outside of the scipt. Please consider.

  2. Ability to do extractions/parameterization from recorded true log in SilkPerformer

Currently, SilkPerformer can not do extractions/parameterization from recorded true log. In LoadRunner, there is no need to run any replay before user can start extracting or adding text checks to the script. All of these can be done from the log captured during recording. Even when the script is changed and updated, the synchronization of the recorded log and the script is still maintained without any need to run Try Script.
Advantages of the described approach for the customers scenario will enhance SilPerformer's usability.

  3. easily add/remove CloudBurst agents for specific scripts/workloads in the same way that you can currently with locally installed agents

The ability to easily add/remove CloudBurst agents for specific scripts/workloads in the same way that you can currently with locally installed agents.
Currently you need to do this on the 'agent assignment" tab of the Workload Configuration dialog but it would be useful if CloudBurst agents were treated just as local agents.

  4. Maintaining SP test results in SilkCentral over the long duration.

Maintaining SilkPerformer test results in SilkCentral over the long duration.
To generate Silk Performer like report you need to know lots of load test specific parameters like TestDefExecIDpkfk id. It should be easier to comparing results across multiple execution. When using the Repository it’s really easy, a LoadTest id gets generated; but when we store results in SilkCentral the load test id is zero.

  5. command line enhancements suggestions

Ability to automatically run a load test, generate the report in html format and generate a cross load result of new build against previous build (baseline) to detect the performance imipact (html format), without the manual involvement. Thus the command line features of silk performer components are very important.

  7. Performance Explorer – launching program as the remote server user

Having to launch Perfexp as the remote server user should be improved. I should be able to give a user account with the relevant permissions when monitoring perfmon.

  8. Option in the GUI to start monitoring from multiple instances of Performance Explorer

When using multiple instances of Performance Explorer on different machines; have an option to start monitoring and "write data" for all of these monitors.
This is already possible using the command line but a GUI option would be helpful.

  9. Make SilkPerformer trying to connect to the internet an option that you can disable

Currently, SilkPerformer automatically connects to the internet when you start the workbench. It connects to some CloudBurst servers and to Microfocus. While this may be considered useful for some customers, it's quite annoying when your Silk installation can't reach the internet. Please make it an option you can disable.

  11. Persisting changes to the active profile

I've been convinced by support that adding jQuery to:

    settings

    /active profile

    /record

    /web browser driven

    / Recording tab

so that I end up with something like:

CHECKED, DISABLED, style, width, height, size, __, class, JQuery*

    is a good thing.

Could you please make this so we can make the change globally and keep it, as opposed to having to edit each individual / new project to add this value? It would save users valuable time having to go back and troubleshoot the same issues over and over.

  12. Command Line option allowing to stop a load test run

Currently It is allowing to start or abort a load test run through command line.

It will be nice, if we could even stop / kill currently active load test.

  13. Project Agents - Check

In Silk Performer 10 and 15 when one checks the project agents the application returns the agents name (or IP address, depending upon how one entered the agent's name); STATUS [OK], the processors on the agent machine, the amount of memory, the OS Version Number, and the Agent Version Number. It sure would be nice to report back the version of Internet Explorer on the machine for BDLT testing, since the versions of IE have to match. We have 18 agent machines in 2 computer labs and folks are quite frequently trying out other versions of IE - which blows…

  14. Introduce support for RDP protocol

It would be good to have Silk Performer introduce support to RDP protocol.

  15. Browser Driven scripts need to raise errors for http4xx and 5xx responses.

By default, a browser driven script does not raise an error for an action that results in a http4xx or 5xx error unless the script explicitly verifies some DOM information on the page that might indicate that there was an error. In many pages one might not see an effect from the DOM layer that an error has happened. If there was a 404 error on a missing gif that is used for on screen formatting (blank.gif) one wouldn't really see it. Sometimes a javascript request for a page may return a 400 or a 500 error as well. The…

  16. Provide features to filter results (Timer/Transactions/Scripts)

Please provide features to filter results after a testrun.
So it would be great to hide specific page/custom timer or just hide TInit/TEnd Transactions. Furthermore I would appreciate if it would be possible to hide whole Scripts. Maybe you habe a test where also a monitoring script was executed but you don't want to see this in the Overview Report.

  17. Specify Timer names for Browser Driven Functions

Within the Browser Driven Load Testing feature, Silk Performer will record timer names for the likes of BrowserClick etc, based on the content of the XPath locator string of an element.

It would be good to have a feature within Silk Performer that would allow you to manually specify the named assign to a function during record, whether it be recording at the Protocol level or via the Browser Driven approach

  19. restart users in loadtest

During a load test it can occur that user fail and stop running (halted state). Currently there is no way to restart the user if it fails.
This means that you wont reach your pre-defined load. The only way to get your load is to restart the test run.

Being able to restart users during a test run will result in a valid test instead of stopping and starting a new test run.

  20. "apply to all instances" when using the TrueLog Customize Value option

From the TrueLog, you have the ability to right-click and use the Customize Value option. This option allows you to customize data and pull the data from a file. However, you have to manually do this for all occurrences of the data within the script. We would like to see a checkbox to "apply change to all instances" within the script. This saves the user from having find each occurrence and make the same exact change throughout the entire script.
