SilkTest Workbench: Convert Visual Test to .Net Script
SilkTest workbench - request for functionality to support the conversion of Visual Tests to .Net Scripts.
The main advantage of Visual Test approach is that it is simple and intuitive for novice QA engineers to get to grips with, especially if these are non-technical and have limited scripting experience.
But due to the limitations and some missing functionality within the Visual Test framework; it would be beneficial if Visual Tests could be converted into .Net Scripts, for further modification and enhancement by more experienced QA engineers.

Great idea! HP's QTP currently has this functionality in that it allows you to toggle between visual steps and the actual underlying code.

@All: Please note that even if there is functionality which cannot be converted into a .NET script, this functionality would still be very useful. The functions that cannot be converted could just be added as a comment, for example.

I think there should be the ability to convert Visual tests to any of the supported scripting languages - .Net, Java, and 4test.
This way regular QA testers can initiate tests without requiring programming skills. Those tests can then be passed on to the automation team for finalization and maintenance.

Silk Test 13 has Set/Get Playback settings for Visual tests, this is not available for .Net scripts.

Some times I have missed this functionality too.
But does for each functionality in Visual Test exist one equivalent functionality in Test Script?
At the moment (SilkTest 13) there is no result comment function available in Test Script or for example no possibility to get or set the playback settings. There might by other functional differences...
