Silk Test Feature Request

  1. Possibility to set the Catch Exception when Thrown option in a script

When you include agent options in a script, you use the Options class with the GetOption or SetOption methods. For instance, when you type:

    Agent.SetOption(Options.

the agent options display automatically in the Code window with the auto-completion and syntactical assistance technology. You are then able to select the options you wish to use from the list.

The Catch Exception when Thrown option is not available in the list as this is not an agent option, however, we would like to request for the possibility to set this option in a script.

  2. Record "VerifyProperties" for OpenAgent similar to Classic Agent

Please implement a Record-VerifyProperties function in the OpenAgent similar to ClassicAgent. Meaning that you can record properties of all child objects of the object that is under the mouse cursor rather than just that object.

  3. Provide an index locator attribute similar to the Classic Agent Index tag

If testing localized versions of an application, an "index" locator attribute similar to the Classic Agent index tag would be useful as an alternative way to identify controls.

  4. Watchlist for Variables in debug mode

One of the essential features that any type of IDE should have is a possibility to keep an eye on the values that a variable has during its lifetime. Otherwise it is really hard to track the variables and it is very time-consuming use message boxes to get the values of specific variables.
Its a big compromise to code the scripts in other IDEs to transfer them afterwards in SilkTest and finalize with verify routines of SilkTest.

  5. When pressing "ctrl+->" (control and right arrow) against the following two lines of code: [ ] string sCFG_QaAutomationDirectory = "\\Dtc

When pressing "ctrl+->" (control and right arrow) against the following two lines of code:

    [ ] string sCFG_QaAutomationDirectory = "\\Dtc230042ba890a\view\svizzini1_view_banking\"
    [ ] //this is a comment.

The user would expect the SilkTest Classic IDE to stop at the end of the last string (svizzini1_view_banking\") on the first line, however it does not, SilkTest continues on to the next line to the first character (t) of this.

In Eclipse 3.7 and notepad, pressing “ctrl+-> stops at the end of the line after the very last character "

Therefore it would be a good idea if the Silk Test Classic IDE behaviour…

  7. Mouse Click Behavior

If a left-handed user of Silk Test has reversed their mouse buttons so that a right-click of the device operates to act like a left-click and vice versa, Silk Test records the right-click as if it was a left-click (object.click(left)). However, when this operation is replayed, the Open Agent treats this as a physical click of the left-button. In a system where the mouse buttons are reversed, this often brings up the context menu. This should be corrected so that recording and replay convert the functionality consistently.

  8. Silk does not show many properties of a window that are available in TestPartner.

For example, Application, ClassName, DotNETClassName, TypeName, Top, Left, Height, and Width. Application, ClassName and TypeName are particularly useful to identify certain types of windows. Please add the capability of using these in a Silk Locator.

  9. Open Agent - need GetItemImageIndex method

The classic Agent provides a function called GetItemImageIndex() which returns the index of an image for a given item in a ListView or TreeView. It can also return the state of radiobuttons or checkboxes that are contained in a ListView.

This request is to implement a similar function for the Open Agent when testing ListViewEx controls.

  10. Silktest Workbench - Find/Replace text in all scripts

Currently you can Find/Replace only in one script. This does not cover many cases when you are forced to make similar changes in e.g. 100 scripts.
